What is wood treated waste?

Treated wood cannot go in any of your carts, and is NOT accepted at the Devlin Road Transfer Station.

It must be disposed of at an authorized landfill (a special variance is no longer required to haul and dispose of treated wood).

California’s DTSC has a treated wood fact sheet with info on proper storage and hauling procedures. You can also visit twwdisposal.org for similar information.

Customers with large amounts of treated wood can contact us for special debris box and hauling service.

Small amounts of treated wood (up to 3′ long) are accepted at the Napa-Vallejo Hazardous Waste Facility. Drop off is no charge for residential customers, but there is a limit of 50 lbs. The rate for commercial customers is $203/foot and the maximum per month is 220 lbs – appointments are required. Call (800) 984-9661 for more information and to schedule an appointment.
